Today marks the release of our 40th Anniversary Edition of Graham Parker's Another Grey Area. We hope that you’ll check it out. Grammy-winning engineer Mark Wilder has created what we feel is the definitive CD remastering of this great album. Add in liner notes from Geoffrey Himes and an always on-point layout from Chris Eselgroth, and we feel it lives up to our mission statement: Reissues Done Right. Best of all, of course, are the songs of Graham Parker and the performances by Graham and the musicians. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Graham Parker or are coming to this album for the first time, we hope you’ll enjoy it! Lyrically, there are few finer albums. Please let us know what you think.
We recently put our reissue of Do It (’Til You’re Satisfied) by B.T. Express into production. This hit album has had a very messy history on CD. We love a challenge and have righted the wrongs in collaboration with the brilliant Donald Cleveland and A. Scott Galloway. If you’re unfamiliar with this record, it’s an absolute BEAST of a funk album. Don’t let the word ‘Disco’ scare you away. B.T. Express' Do It (’Til You’re Satisfied) will be out on May 27th.
Several more upcoming reissues were mentioned in a recent interview with The Second Disc. We are very excited to reintroduce long lost cult classics from the Ohio Players and Dwight Twilley into the marketplace, with all the care they deserve. First time on CD from masters for Tenderness by the Ohio Players and first time on CD period for Dwight Twilley’s Wild Dogs! Plus a 2 CD Deluxe Edition of The Light User Syndrome by The Fall. We’ll have a lot more to say about each of these reissues in the upcoming months.
And that’s not all we have in store. Reissues currently in the pipeline include a pair of blues-rock gems by two of the genre’s most beloved and much missed figures, a concept album collaboration from two of classic pop’s most acclaimed songwriters, a 40th anniversary deluxe edition of a psychedelic pop punk masterwork, and a previously unreleased vintage solo album by one of melodic rock’s greatest voices.
