Max Werner
Max Werner is an original member of the Dutch progressive rock/art rock band Kayak. He performed on six of Kayak’s albums as lead singer between 1973 and 1977, including the albums See See the Sun, Royal Bed Bouncer, and The Last Encore. Switching to drums, Werner performed on an additional four Kayak records prior to the band’s 1982 breakup, including the concept album Merlin. Despite not reaching the same level of international fame as their countrymen Focus, all of the above-mentioned Kayak albums are highly prized by progressive rock cultists. Werner also recorded four solo albums of which 1981’s Seasons is the most acclaimed, scoring a hit single with “Rain In May.”
