Gene Loves Jezebel
Formed by Welsh twins, Michael and Jay Aston, Gene Loves Jezebel is among the best-loved bands to emerge from the early ’80s U.K. goth scene while always standing apart from their peers.
With their colorful looks in a black-clad scene; intense music filled with overlapping vocals and shrieks, cutting guitars, tribal rhythms, strange lyrics, melodic choruses, and the explosive musical and personal chemistry of the twins, early Gene Loves Jezebel spoke a language entirely its own.
Gene Loves Jezebel next set their sights on America, becoming popular on MTV and alternative radio with hits including “Desire,” “The Motion of Love” and “Jealous.”
Separate Gene Loves Jezebel lineups fronted by Jay and Michael Aston continue to record and tour, while the band’s classic music is a staple of SiriusXM’s 1st Wave station.
